As the founder of Turkolocal, let me briefly introduce myself: my name is Baran Keki. I am a native Turkish speaker and a certified (sworn) translator accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Justice. I have been working as a full-time sworn translator since 2007 when I first started out as an in-house translator at a translation office located in Istanbul, Turkey. Having worked at the same agency for 10 years and translated well over 5 Million words from English to Turkish mostly in the areas of legal and technical patents, legal and business contracts, human resources policies, corporate guidelines, intellectual property, audit reports, and marketing texts, I decided to go freelance and collaborate with like-minded colleagues with whom I worked during my long tenure as an in-house translator.
As an expert Turkish translator specializing in law, finance, patents, human resources, marketing and insurance, I started working with the colleagues from my former agency who specialize in medical, pharmaceutical, technical and patent translations. Together we formed a solid team of English to Turkish translators specializing only in certain areas of translation. We proofread, edit and quality check each other’s work to ensure maximum quality for our respective clients.
We are not a one-stop-shop translation agency juggling all kinds of subject matters and churning out large volumes of translation with dubious quality. We are a team of highly experienced and qualified freelancers specializing in certain areas of translation from English to Turkish to provide the best possible linguistic results for non-Turkish clients at reasonable rates.

For this reason, we produce relatively less volume (about 2,500 to 3,000 words a day) but ensure the highest quality.
